Loved Molly Malone!! This is not your typical rhyming book. It is clever and charming. The artwork is well done and brings life to the words! Of course I have a soft spot for pound hounds, so it made reading this delightful book very enjoyable!
The Daily Rounds of a Hound is a delightful book that is beautifully illustrated. We had a great time reading about Molly's adventures and looking at the colorful illustrations. I wish this book had been around when my sons were younger but they still enjoyed it immensely, especially since we were one of the lucky families who adopted one of Molly's stowaways! This will be my new "go to" gift for my friends who have little ones. Buy it, read it, love it!
I love "The Daily Rounds of a Hound". What is not to like? This is a captivating tale of the delightful and very busy Molly Malone, the Hound.
She comes to her family via an animal shelter. Molly fills her days with secret missions, patrolling her house and keeping the children safe. She genuinely loves all creatures great and small.
The writing style of Ed Payne makes it a delightful read. In addition, the illustrations by Brit Sekulic are spot on, bringing this tale to perfection. You will enjoy this book for so many reasons. It will bring smiles and joy as we are reminded of the great love our dogs give to us and how much we love them.
It was such a nice story. Not too deep, just right. I bought it for my great nephew.
He's almost 1, but will enjoy it, as he lives with two pups.
What a fun children's book! Most of our grandchildren are grown now, but there are 5 great-greats coming along who will love it as much as we have. The story is so present day as there are so many abandoned animals these days roaming the streets and in shelters who need someone to care for them . The illustrations are superb! They make you feel like you have a personal relationship with Molly and family. It looks like lots of thought went into them. I, too, have an abandoned female dog, but unlike Ed's Molly, she didn't come with extra baggage! Whew! To animal lovers of the world, this book is a must for your children!
Not what I expected. I have 3 first& second grade teachers in my family and gave them as stocking gifts at Christmastime. No one took them home. A quick thumb-through was all they did.
I read this to the kindergarten class and they loved it. Everyone had a dog story to tell after the book.
